Oktango was founded by Octavian Janner in 2004. Octavian's clear,
methodical style of teaching and his passion for dance has inspired
thousands of people to enjoy learning and dancing tango with us.
To help you learn, we regularly invite top teachers from London and abroad
to share their expertise.
"I really enjoy how Octavian gives people a sense of the discipline involved, with a light
touch and a sense of humour so everyone feels relaxed. He had complete beginners
dancing around the space by the end of an evening."
Guest teachers
Luis Rodriguez has been performing and teaching worldwide for 15 years.
He is well-known for his elegant style, musical interpretation and ability to
help students develop their technique to gain fluidity in their dance. Luis
teaches with us on Mondays.
Frances Pace has ten years experience teaching and performing in the UK
and abroad. She specialises in helping students feel confident and enjoy the
dance, as well as focusing on technique and partner connection. Frances
teaches every Monday and Tuesday.
Ana Reisinger has been teaching tango for three years, both in the UK and
abroad. Her classes aim to equip students with the basic moves and
confidence to dance simple, pure tango from day one, with extra technique
tips for ladies. Ana teaches on Tuesdays. She has also been co-hosting and
teaching at the weekly Friday milonga, Tango @ the Welsh, for the past year.
Sandra & Santiago Monticelli are a respected couple from Buenos
Aires, Argentina. They have been teaching and performing with us during
2009 and we look forward to working with them again.

"Frances' enthusiasm and
joy of tango is infectious.
We look forward to our
weekly lessons, which have
taught us the techniques to
pursue this enjoyable dance
with confidence"
"I like Oktango because of the different styles of teachers, as
students have different ways of learning.
For example, Frances is excellent at teaching technique, tweaking
what you do bit by bit and seeing what each person in the class is
doing so she can progressively improve their style.
Octavian makes you concentrate on the passion you put into the
dance and the frame of mind you have to be in, often going right
back to basics to improve your overall understanding of the
dance."
